My client is currently looking for a suitably qualified person for the position of Instrument Technician.
This position reports to the Maintenance Foreman (Instrumentation).
The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring technical requirements are comprehended and defined, and work programs developed to maintain the reliability of the instrumentation system.
Key performance areas:
Ensure technical requirements are comprehended and defined, and work programmes developed to maintain the reliability of the instrumentation system.
Oversee or prepare complex drawings and programming codes.
Provide guidelines, advice, and guidance, and participate in and/or execute complex installation, fault finding, repair, and calibration procedures to maintain the reliability of a complex integrated instrumentation network and infrastructure.
Ensure specifications and standards are adhered to during the installation of new instrumentation systems or complex maintenance work.
Examine faults and deviations and evaluate options/alternatives prior to implementation with a view to minimizing or eliminating repeated instrumentation errors and faults.
Check equipment and procedures to ensure reliability is applied and certifications are current and valid.
Ensure technical information and knowledge is made available to support planning and decision-making processes.
Ensure accuracy of information is made available on the applications executed relating to instrumentation works.
Minimum specifications / requirement areas:
Matric.
Experience on DCS Systems (Siemens PCS7 is advantageous).
