Instructional Designer

We are searching for an experienced and creative Instructional Designer to join our Learning and Development team. The Instructional Designer will be responsible for designing, developing, and compiling learning material that will ensure effective and engaging learning experiences for our employees. The ideal candidate will be part of a team that is driven by quality, sound ethical principles, and a responsibility to adhere to skills development regulations.

Duration: 3 months project-based consultancy, thereafter if and when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. National Certificate in Occupationally Directed Education Training and Development Practices (ODETDP 50334) OR Completed Unit Standards 123394; 115755; 123401.
2. 3-5 years of experience in learning material design and development.
3. English speaking.
4. A certificate (local or international) in the ADDIE or SAM design model - Advantageous.
5. Postgraduate/Honours Degree in Human Resource Development - Advantageous.
6. Registration with a Human Resource professional body such as the SABPP - Advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with business Subject Matter Experts to identify and obtain course objectives and content.
2. Collaborate with other roles in the team and business stakeholders, negotiating timelines and drawing up project plans where necessary.
3. Work closely with Facilitators / Assessors / Moderators to validate learning material and maximize learner engagement / participation.
4. Design and develop a variety of blended learning and eLearning materials, including but not limited to curricula, matrices, theory content, class activities, assessment instruments, and rollout schedules.
5. Apply tested instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
6. Develop memorandums and guides of the course for Facilitators, Assessors, and Moderators.
7. Understand and keep abreast of Quality Council policies insofar as they affect the design of learning materials.
8. Work with graphic designers to ensure the application of the Corporate Identity in relation to learning materials.
9. Own licensing & access to Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, Word, etc.).
10. Own laptop/computer required.
