Installation Technician and Factory Supervisor

Well established company based in Johannesburg, East Rand, requires an Installation Technician / Factory Supervisor.

Energetic, hands-on and experienced Installer is required.

You will also oversee the factory operations from production planning to quality, commissioning and testing right through to client installations for both commercial and domestic properties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production runs smoothly, overseeing a team of 9 factory staff and attend to installations on-site.Factory Oversight & Production Planning

• Supervise and coordinate the production line, ensuring efficiency and adherence to schedules.
• Oversee quality control and testing of products before dispatch.
• Ensure client orders are correctly scheduled and on track for timely installation.
• Manage basic production planning schedules using Excel.
• Liaise with management regularly

Installations & Site Management

• Lead and oversee 2–3 installations per week for both domestic and commercial projects (lodges, homes, hotels, etc.).
• Attend to site installations by being hands on and ensuring successful completion and client satisfaction.
• Liaise with clients on-site to provide updates and address any concerns.
• Operate company bakkie and trailer while supervising 2 junior installers.
• Train junior installers to improve overall efficiency and workmanship.

• Working hours: 7:00 am – 4:30 pm
• Attend to local installations within Gauteng area
• Willingness to travel for out-of-town for installations occasionally staying overnight for 1-2 nights at a time, in areas such as Mpumalanga.

Skills Required :

• Minimum of 2 - 4 years installations experience
• Background in building / construction industry with installations similar to solar, aircon, ventilation, pools, plumbing, blinds, security systems etc.
• Basic electrical skills.
• Strong ability to liaise with clients and manage a small team effectively.
• Ability to train and mentor junior Installers.
• Energetic, hands-on, problem-solving attitude.
• Valid license is required for operating company vehicle and trailer.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Ideally, someone with experience in technical installations such as pool, solar, aircon, ventilation, security systems, electrical, construction or plumbing industries.
• Practical, hands-on individual who can balance factory supervision and site installations efficiently.
