As the Industrial Relations Specialist, you will play a key role in fostering positive relationships between the Company and its employees while ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining a harmonious and productive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with HR to develop and implement employee relations policies and procedures that align with company objectives and legal requirements.
Act as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, performance management, and policy interpretation.
Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations issues in partnership with HR.
Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and grievances, recommending appropriate resolutions.
Prepare cases and represent the Company in disciplinary proceedings, as well as in matters before the CCMA, Bargaining Council, and Labour Court.
Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.
Manage negotiations with labor unions and participate in collective bargaining processes.
Monitor employee satisfaction levels and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop and deliver training programs for managers and employees on employee relations topics.
Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in employee relations, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
Maintain accurate records and reports related to employee relations activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the manufacturing or construction industry.
Extensive experience representing the Company in internal disciplinary proceedings and CCMA cases.
Experience working with Bargaining Councils and labor unions is highly advantageous.
Proficiency in written and spoken Xhosa is essential.
Strong knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
