About the role Engineers will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical systems for the company's manufacturing facilities. Reporting to the Engineering Manager within the Engineering and Maintenance department, this role will ensure the efficient and safe operation of all mechanical and electrical equipment. The Mechanical and Electrical Engineer will contribute to the organization's success by ensuring reliable operation of manufacturing equipment, reducing downtime, improving product quality, and enhancing the organization's reputation through efficient and safe operations.
Responsibilities
Management of minute-to-minute running of the production line or packaging plant.
Maintenance of production and packaging line.
Understanding and managing the electronic interface with the production lines.
Lubrication of the machine or maintenance schedules.
Reporting any problems with the machine.
Replacing faulty parts on maintenance schedules, or when required.
Post review of day, week, and month production and view opportunities to manage the system more effectively.
Preview and planning of production requirements, for the day and week, against sales requirements.
Replacing faulty parts on maintenance schedules, or when required.
Requirements
Qualification in Industrial Engineering.
Skills in technical engineering.
Knowledge of electrical reticulation and fault finding (i.e., being able to read electrical drawings).
Skills in people looking at automated mechanical engineering.
Knowledge of mechanical systems.
Ability to use hand tools.
Ability to use power tools.
Ability to work with a team and as an individual.
Computer literate.
Good problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
Must not have taken part in the YES Program before.
