Job Title : Independent ICT Committee Member

Job Type : Contract, Part-Time

Primary Industry : Health, Medical and related

Job Duties :

  • Provide expert advice on the development and implementation of the organisation's ICT strategy
  • Ensure ICT initiatives align with business objectives and strategic goals
  • Offer insights into emerging technologies and industry trends
  • Contribute to the development and review of ICT governance frameworks
  • Monitor compliance with ICT laws and regulations
  • Identify and assess ICT risks including cybersecurity threats
  • Review and assess the performance of ICT systems and services
  • Facilitate communication between the ICT Committee, board, and stakeholders
  • Provide an independent perspective on ICT matters
  • Advise on recruitment, development, and retention of ICT talent
  • Uphold high standards of ethics and integrity in all ICT activities

Required Qualifications :

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or Commerce or related fields
  • Advanced degrees (e.g. MBA, Master's in Information Systems) will be beneficial

Professional Background :

  • Experience in senior management or executive roles
  • Previous roles in ICT management, cybersecurity and resilience, digital transformation, or related areas
  • Board experience in other organizations, including exposure to ICT governance

Knowledge and Skills :

  • Ability to make independent and critical judgements, demonstrating insightful decision making
  • Knowledge and experience of ICT practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address ICT challenges and issues
  • Innovative thinking to identify and leverage technology opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate ICT strategies and risks to the board and other stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business language
  • Ability to analyse complex ICT issues and make informed recommendations to the board
  • Critical thinking skills to assess the impact of technology on the organization
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and risk management
  • Familiarity with data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR, CCPA)
  • Knowledge of financial principles related to ICT investments and ROI
  • Plays a pivotal role in ensuring that an organization is not only prepared to defend against cyber threats but is also resilient enough to recover quickly and continue operations effectively in the face of cyber incidents
