In House Legal Counsel

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their legal department. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in managing the client's legal affairs, overseeing litigation matters, and collaborating with external legal resources and insurers. Your responsibilities will extend to ensuring the efficient resolution of negotiations and disputes as well as the effective drafting, review, and interpretation of contracts. With a minimum of 6 years of experience in a corporate legal environment, including expertise in contract negotiation and legislative compliance, you will be pivotal in guiding the company through legal challenges and opportunities. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage litigation matters internally, conduct internal investigations, and liaise with external legal resources and insurers.
• Represent the company in ensuring the efficient resolution of negotiations and disputes.
• Ensure that contracts are effectively drafted, reviewed, interpreted, vetted, implemented, and stored.
• Support the executives and the company in general with timely advice on all matters of legal nature, including contract drafting and interpretation, litigation, dispute resolution, patents and trademarks, governance, and regulation.
• Advise on legal exposure for the business and mitigating actions.
• Assist the business in compliance with various legislative requirements.
• Act as legal counsel on issues involving company compliance with moderately complex governmental and regulatory standards.
• Analyse implications of case law, legislation, and regulatory matters that affect the company and report back to the executive team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Admitted attorney.
• 6 years in a corporate legal environment.
• Contract drafting and negotiation skills.
• Minutes/resolutions/policies/mandates drafting skills.
• Coaching/training skills.
• Legislative and regulatory knowledge.
