Our client in the global professional services industry is seeking an experienced Technology Consulting Practitioner (IM Design Authority – SAP Ariba Downstream) to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, integration, governance, and delivery of SAP Ariba Downstream solutions. This role ensures alignment with business requirements, best practices, and supply chain (SC) objectives while managing compliance, release management, and stakeholder relationships. The individual will act as the central authority for all solution architecture decisions and provide expert guidance for successful implementation and optimization of SAP Ariba Downstream modules.

What you will do:

Solution Design and Governance

  • Serve as the authority for solution design, integration, and architecture decisions for SAP Ariba Downstream.
  • Provide recommendations for SAP Ariba modules, including Supply Chain Collaboration, Procurement Content (APC), Guided Buying, and Discovery.
  • Ensure all designs align with business requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct documentation reviews for enhancement changes and manage release management processes.
  • Oversee compliance reviews to ensure adherence to IT audit controls and governance policies.

Integration Management

  • Define and implement integration strategies using SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG) or middleware solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SAP Ariba with SAP S/4HANA Service and other relevant systems.
  • Optimize Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes and improve SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM) functionalities.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Manage relationships with SC Ariba business teams, IM teams, and AMS support teams.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to support digitization initiatives and resolve priority service tickets.
  • Facilitate collaboration between SAP Ariba Engineering teams and SC business teams to address critical issues and ensure successful deployments.

Release and Change Management

  • Manage SAP Ariba quarterly release cycles, ensuring all changes are reviewed, analysed, and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Conduct impact analysis of each new feature and oversee the documentation and implementation of changes.
  • Review and approve Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) submitted by the business team.
  • Support AMS teams in resolving BRD-related issues efficiently.

Leadership and Expertise

  • Lead cross-functional teams in deploying SAP Ariba Buying and related modules.
  • Provide advanced-level guidance for SAP Ariba Buying and proficiency in SAP S/4HANA Service.
  • Mentor team members and stakeholders on best practices for SAP Ariba Downstream solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in SAP Ariba and/or SAP S/4HANA is advantageous.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale SAP Ariba implementations in a global environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAP Ariba and SAP Ariba Buying.
  • Strong expertise in SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway (CIG).
  • Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Service, RFQ processes, and SAP Supply Chain Management (SCM).
  • Experience with release management processes, including compliance and IT audit controls.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent leadership and team collaboration skills.
