Job description

Job title: ICT Manager - Cape Town

Job Location: Western Cape, Cape Town

Deadline: March 07, 2025

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Ensuring that the organisation is provided with robust ICT resources and services to meet operational needs
  2. Leading and directing the provision of technical support to staff and stakeholders regarding ICT facilities, applications, and services
  3. Effectively managing and monitoring all ICT systems and infrastructure to ensure highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability and performance
  4. Planning, implementing, developing, upgrading and subsequent support of all IT business applications to meet evolving business requirements and contribute to the efficient delivery of services
  5. Effectively overseeing and managing all hardware, software, and IT services procurement, liaising with suppliers and service providers
  6. Ensuring effective connectivity and server management across all offices and supporting all users
  7. Ensuring that the organisation’s need for effective and efficient connectivity and ICT services are met
  8. Initiating methods and processes that will enhance the ICT services of the organisation
  9. Assisting the Cyber Security Manager in securing our ICT systems

Minimum requirements:

  1. Tertiary qualification in Information Technology or related field
  2. 5 years’ experience in IT support or similar roles
  3. Relevant staff management experience, including on project basis or completion of the Party’s Management Readiness Programme (applicable to internal candidates)
  4. Experience with supporting various Microsoft Office Suite, Windows Servers, Active Directory, and cloud-based solutions
  5. A background in managing IT infrastructure and networks in a multi-site environment
  6. Advanced knowledge and experience with:
    1. Windows Operating Systems (installation, issues, repairs)
    2. Network setups, monitoring and administration
    3. Windows Server environments
    4. Cloud-based hosting and backup services
    5. Advanced Active Directory management
    6. Setting up and maintaining backup and recovery systems
    7. Computer hardware systems, chipsets, memory modules and peripherals
    8. Project management experience (advantageous)
    9. Understanding of cyber security principles (advantageous)
    10. Understanding of the requirements of the POPI Act in the workplace (advantageous)
    11. Experience in administration of vPBX and dialer telephony software (advantageous)
    12. Experience with Linux systems (advantageous)
