POSITION:

HYBRID TECHNICIAN - Installation & Service

Reports To

Senior Supervisor, Service

Qualifications & Experience

1. Matric
2. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as an alarm technician
3. Previous programming, wiring, installations and fault-finding experience

Main Purpose Of Job

A Technician at this level is suitably qualified and experienced (to the Company’s standard) to install & maintain domestic alarm systems as well as perform on-site programming and testing of such systems. This technician can also perform basic fault finding and install radio communication devices.

Job Requirements & Other Attributes

1. Valid driver’s licence essential
2. Must be PSIRA registered (Grade C)
3. Knowledge of Listener advantageous
4. Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox and Texecom systems
5. Basic Knowledge of CCTV, Intercom systems and access control advantageous
6. Able to work standby as per duty sheet

DUTIES

1. Conduct service calls / maintenance and repairs of alarms
2. Program alarm panels
3. Complete handovers and quotations
4. Complete invoices and job cards after every service call
5. Complete links up for new clients
6. Re-programme alarm systems when the current alarm was part of a takeover
7. Treat all clients with respect
8. Always ensure neatness and in full uniform
9. Assist with any problems or complaints
10. Ensure the vehicle assigned to you is roadworthy and clean
11. Check and inspect the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the office/hub
12. Report all faults to the Senior Supervisor, Installations
13. Complete daily drive sheets
14. Complete job reports and technical invoices
15. Quote clients on upgrades
16. Conduct vehicle, electrical and ladder inspection checks and give feedback to the manager
17. Complete a stock control check
18. Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy
