Human Resources Specialist (East Rand Johannesburg )

An esteemed organization in the education sector is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join its team. Reporting to the Executive Head and Business Manager, this role is integral in aligning human resources strategy with organizational goals. The successful candidate will provide strategic HR services, guiding and advising management on policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the delivery of key HR initiatives across the employee life cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement strategic HR initiatives, including talent management, succession planning, and organizational development.
• Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, from talent acquisition to onboarding, ensuring top talent is sourced and integrated effectively.
• Oversee performance management frameworks that promote employee engagement and support talent development.
• Drive governance and compliance with HR policies and employment legislation, including chairing the Employment Equity Committee.
• Leverage HR analytics to provide insights on workforce trends and support data-driven decision-making.
• Manage the HR budget and collaborate with leadership to optimize resource allocation.
• Proactively identify and address HR-related risks while fostering a culture of collaboration, fairness, and confidentiality.

Minimum Requirements:

• Honours degree or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management.
• 10 years + HR generalist experience, including senior HR Business Partner roles.
• Experience managing a small team.
• Relevant experience in the education sector or a comparable environment.
• Professional registration and applied knowledge of employment legislation.
• Experience working in a non-unionised, services-based organisation.
