Provision of an all embracing smooth and efficient HR service for all employees of Unichem Services and related companies:

  • Proper maintenance of all employee document files (electronic and hard copy)

Primary Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Recruitment, specs for new posts, advertising (internal and external), coordinate applications, assist with shortlisting, attendance at interviews, post interview correspondence with applicants, generate employment contracts
  2. New employee inductions and collation of all documents for new engagements, registration of learners with regulatory bodies
  3. Support to department heads for counselling, dispute resolution and adjudication matters
  4. Attendee at disciplinary hearings and documentation following hearings, including dismissals
  5. Representation at CCMA for low key matters
  6. Planning and coordination of staff training, including attendance registers
  7. Input for the company’s Performance Management System, coordinate company-wide performance appraisals, generate, and communicate pertinent statistics
  8. General involvement in the health, safety, and welfare of all employees and reporting of unsafe work practices and acts
  9. Monitoring and recording staff attendance, contingency plans for absent colleagues, administration of staff leave, sick notes, etc.
  10. Undertake submission of annual Skills Plan if applicable, provide pertinent HR related information for the BBBEE audits
  11. When required, liaison with Labournet, advising line managers and employees on pertinent aspects of Labour Law
  12. Ownership of HR Policies and Procedures manual, including updates
  13. Administrator over UIF, medical aid, provident fund, and other company benefits, coordinate Discovery wellness days, staff briefings by external consultants and claims administration
  14. Provide such reports as requested by Management around absenteeism, leave or other HR related matters
  15. Act as the company’s Documents Control Officer and administer the groups document archives housed at Unichem House
  16. When required, coordinate staff travel requirements and maintain the file for all staff travel for insurance purposes
  17. Any other HR related tasks not listed above for which the necessary training has been provided to the job incumbent
