Background

African Parks is a non-profit conservation organization that takes on complete responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. Founded in the year 2000, AP currently manages 22 national parks and protected areas in 12 countries covering 20 million hectares. African Parks applies a strong results-driven 'business approach to conservation', with each park managed holistically, ensuring that they are ecologically, socio-politically, and financially sustainable.


Primary Purpose

The Human Resources Officer will support the HR department in various administrative and operational tasks, ensuring the smooth execution of HR functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. It also requires someone with Extensive Sage 300 experience.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Assist with recruitment activities, including posting job ads and scheduling interviews.
  2. Schedule and organize interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
  3. Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing orientation materials and conducting orientation sessions.
  4. Process onboarding and offboarding documentation for employees.
  5. Assist in the execution of integration programs to ensure new hires are familiar with company policies, procedures, and culture.
  6. Provide guidance and support to new employees during their adaptation period.
  7. Support the administration of the performance management system, including coordinating performance reviews and feedback sessions.
  8. Coordinate training programs by distributing schedules, ensuring training materials are prepared and delivered, and coordinating logistics to ensure smooth execution.
  9. Collaborate with HR team members to identify development opportunities for employees.
  10. Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  11. Assist in the organization and delivery of training sessions and workshops.
  12. Assist in wellness administration and feedback.
  13. Perform general administrative duties, such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
  14. Assist in HR-related projects and initiatives as required.

This role is based at our Head Office in Branston and it is a 6-month contract with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
