What You Will Enjoy Doing
Manage and localize ALPLA's global HR strategies to meet South African operational needs.
Partner with the Head of HR, Southern Africa, to align HR practices with business goals.
Lead the HR function to ensure compliance with ALPLA policies and South African labour laws.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and talent acquisition aligned with workforce needs and Employment Equity (EE) requirements.
Collaborate with managers to forecast talent needs and refine recruitment strategies.
Manage employee relations, disciplinary procedures, and labour disputes, ensuring compliance with BCEA and LRA.
Represent the company in CCMA processes.
Implement performance management systems and partner with managers on appraisals and goal setting.
Develop and promote career development programs, including training and succession planning.
Oversee compensation, benefits, and salary reviews to ensure market alignment and equity.
Ensure compliance with statutory benefits such as UIF and COIDA.
Review and update HR policies to align with global standards and local regulations.
Communicate and ensure consistent application of HR policies across operations.
Drive employee engagement, workplace culture initiatives, and recognition programs.
Support employee well-being through wellness initiatives.
Collaborate with the HSE team to integrate HR practices with safety standards and compliance.
Drive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and develop Employment Equity plans.
Oversee HR data accuracy and prepare workforce reports, including headcount and turnover.
What makes you great
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource, Industrial Relations, or related field, is preferred.
Postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a senior HR role, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
Experience in the manufacturing or plastics industry is an advantage.
South African Board for People Practices (SABPP) Certificate.
HRIS: Proficiency in using HR Information Systems and payroll software.
