Role Purpose
The incumbent will work closely with Country HR Director and Regional HRBP.
The key areas of focus include:
- Provide leadership and coordination of the Human Resources function in the plant.
- Drive the creation and execution of the people strategies and plans that attract, develop, and retain employees.
- Maintain effective employee relations working relationships with employees and their representative.
- Facilitate HR Processes and process developments that contribute to enhancing the HR contribution to the business.
- Implementation of new and/or existing HR policies and core people processes.
- Ensure performance and talent management to drive the achievement of business goals.
- Effective statutory compliance.
- Effective Payroll management for the Pharma Division.
Key Responsibilities for this Role:
- Implement strategies to support the organizational short- and long-term business needs.
- Set standards through benchmarking/best practices to drive competitive advantage and address opportunities and threats.
- Partner with business heads to facilitate high productivity achievement including defining team and organizational development needs.
- Facilitate the development of appropriate organization structures with clearly defined roles and responsibilities and manpower requirements which support business requirements.
- Monitor staff movements, attrition, and vacancies and ensure vacancies are filled within the stipulated time using the most effective and cost-efficient method/resources.
- Initiate and participate in the selection process to select the most suitable internal/external candidates.
- Administer policies related to people management, attraction, deployment, and development to build a positive and high-performance-oriented culture.
- Monitor the execution of well-planned induction programs to ensure new employees smoothly transition into the business.
- Ensure that staff are managed/treated with dignity and respect throughout the organization and that people managers use tools effectively to assist individual and team performance.
- Identify critical employee training needs across the business and monitor the effectiveness of training.
- Ensure salary competitiveness in line with the industry benchmarks.
- Establish and maintain effective win-win working relationships with employees and their representatives through an environment that fosters open communication and cooperation.
- Promote and foster a culture and environment that is productive, open, empowering, safe, and equitable.
- Performance and talent management that drives business goals through key performance areas and development plan setting.
- Conduct regular HR Audits to ensure compliance and above-board practices.
- Be responsible for all relevant Divisional reports that form input into the Group's submissions.
- Effectively monitor conducive working conditions in line with BCEA.
Qualification & Experience:
- Relevant Degree Specializing in Human Resources.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in human resources or related function.
- Experience working in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing environment with exposure to Industrial Relations.
- Experience in talent management, learning and development, and compensation processes.
- 10+ years of experience in Human Resources.
- Must exemplify integrity which builds trust and credibility to build strong professional relationships.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-directed in projects, tasks, and learning.
- Ability to delegate authority and responsibility.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals.
- Research, analyze and evaluate new service delivery methods and techniques.
- Courage to constructively challenge at the highest levels.
