Job Summary

As the HR Officer at Lumax Energy, you will be entrusted with managing various aspects of human resources, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and performance management. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, ensuring legal compliance, and utilizing data analytics to drive informed HR decisions. Join us in shaping the future of solar energy with a team that values talent and innovation.

Daily Duties,

Recruitment and Selection

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process.
  • Review job descriptions and update with the relevant managers.
  • Advertise vacancies, screen resumes and attend the interviews.
  • The above to be done in conjunction with the directors and managers.

Onboarding and Orientation

  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Ensure new employees have the necessary information, resources, and training to integrate into the company.
  • Capture all the employee information on the payroll system.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed and filed.
  • Prepare and issue the welcome pack for new employees. This includes the job description, company values, company vision, declaration and all relevant policies and procedures relating to the position.
  • Conduct relevant checks on all new employees.

Employee Relations

  • Implement ideas and suggestions to enhance employee relations.
  • Design and execute programs to enhance employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives within the organisation to foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Performance Management

  • Coordinate performance appraisal processes and providing guidance on performance improvement with managers.
  • Identify growth opportunities and succession planning opportunities.
  • Attend to employee queries, grievances, and disciplinary issues with the IR Consultant, company representative and relevant employee.
  • Mediate and resolve conflicts between employees, departments, and/or management.

Training and Development

  • Will be appointed the Skills Development Facilitator and must ensure compliance with regulations via the training committee.
  • Identify training requirements and training gaps to facilitate employee development initiatives to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Engage with employees to ensure effective progress during training courses, learnerships and external courses.
  • Talent Management - identify high-potential employees and developing talent management strategies to retain and nurture them.
  • Must have knowledge of SETA requirements and learnerships.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Manage salary reviews, bonuses, and benefits administration.
  • Ensure the company’s compensation packages remain competitive and in line with industry standards.

HR Policies and Procedures

  • Implement and communicate HR policies and procedures to employees, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

HR Administration

  • Maintain employee records.
  • Manage HR databases and handling administrative tasks such as preparing employment contracts and HR reports.
  • Manage leave balances and processing with managers.

Health and Safety

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and creating a safe working environment for employees.
  • Assist managers in completing WCL2 for injury on duty cases.

Exit Management

  • Attend exit interviews with IR consultant.
  • Process employee terminations and ensure a smooth offboarding processes.

HR Analytics

  • Utilise data and analytics to assess HR metrics, identify trends, and make informed decisions related to workforce planning and performance.

Legal Compliance

  • Stay updated with employment laws and regulations to ensure the company's HR practices are legally compliant.
  • Statutory reporting to be processed – EE/ WSP & ATR and ROE.
  • Monitor and report BBBEE compliance relating to skills development and employment equity.

Requirements

  • Matric with a HR tertiary qualification.
  • At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in HR.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong leadership characteristics.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Driver’s licence, computer skills, punctual, accurate and organised.
  • Knowledge of HR legal compliance regulations.
