Job description

Purpose: The role is accountable for the business partner relationship to deliver the HR strategy and work with line managers within the Function. To enable bottom line growth and the achievement of business plans and the overall strategic direction of the business/organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing advisory service regarding HR related practices, policies and procedures enhancing established business relationships.
  2. Ensure that job profiles and competency matrices are maintained and available for all positions in the area of responsibility.
  3. Update and maintain organization structures and planning in line with company requirements and policy.
  4. Track completion of objective setting, midyear review & end year review sessions with departmental plans.
  5. Monitor completion of employee profiles & talent cards.
  6. Organizing and maintaining personnel records.
  7. Managing HR documents (e.g. employment records and onboarding guides).
  8. Update internal databases (e.g. record sick or maternity leave).
  9. Prepare HR documents, like employment contracts and new hire guides.
  10. Liaise with external partners, like insurance vendors, and ensure legal compliance.
  11. Answer employee queries about HR-related issues.
  12. Assist payroll department by providing relevant employee information (e.g. leaves of absence, sick days, and work schedules).
  13. Arrange travel accommodations and process expense forms.
  14. Participate in HR projects (e.g. help organize a job fair event).

Education & Experience:

  1. A 3-year qualification in Human Resources, Psychology, Humanity, Business, or any other related field.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a Human Resources Practitioner role.
  3. Sound knowledge of HR trends, best practices and procedures as well as appropriate labor legislation, e.g. Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, etc.
  4. Good business acumen and successful problem-solving experience leading to lasting employee relations solutions within a business.
  5. Computer literate and technologically savvy in the general office management systems e.g. MS Office as well as HR Information Systems e.g. SAP.
