Job description

Purpose of Role

The main purpose of the HR Manager is to provide an effective and efficient HR function to JGF entity by creating a positive working environment and developing a competent workforce through building partnerships with line managers and ensuring organizational compliance. In addition, the HR manager would work closely with group HR and the assigned HRBP to ensure consistent HR practices, where appropriate.

Objectives of Role

Organizational Design

  • Guide and advise on the maintenance and updating of Organizational Structures and Job Descriptions
  • Support the Job evaluation process
  • Maintain a job grading matrix for JGF

Policies and Procedures

  • Facilitate adherence to HR policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
  • Identify opportunities for updating and enhancing HR policies, processes and procedures to effect continual improvements in the division.
  • Be involved in the development and adoption of Group HR policies and process

Selection and Recruitment

  • Drive the recruitment of JGF staff, working closely with Shared services
  • Manage the selection process together with line managers and shared services people team
  • Tend to the onboarding process, including drafting facilitating offers to new talent
  • Manage probation process and ensure a tracker in place to support this for new hires

Onboarding and Training

  • Support line manager in adequately onboarding new talent
  • Arrange and manage all development needs that arise, offer guidance around most effective interventions to support development needs
  • Facilitate the process of record keeping of training and ensure compliance with ATR and WSP submission
  • Facilitate the process of monitoring EE plan and submission of the EE report.

Industrial Relations

  • Arrange and manage all IR issues with collaboration relevant manager and where needed, labour specialist
  • Arrange all logistical requirements for Disciplinary Enquiries

Performance Management and talent planning

  • Facilitate adherence to performance management process ensuring education and awareness around the process, record keeping and reporting
  • Support leaders in the process of talent planning and facilitate conversations to ensure alignment

Human Resources Information Systems

  • Updating any HR changes and relevant payroll updates to our people shared services team
  • Capturing of all HR documents electronically on SAGE where necessary
  • Updating and maintaining the HR SharePoint with all data / new forms and relevant information

Human Resources Projects

  • Manage and coordinate of JGF HR projects/initiatives as when required.
  • Support Group related HR projects.

Audits

  • Assist the Human Resource audit ensuring compliance
  • Assistance with Internal HR Audits (HR & Payroll Division on systems and personnel files)

Employee wellness and engagement

  • In collaboration with Group HR, coordinate and facilitate employee wellness initiatives.
  • Plan and execute Talent connects and engagement sessions where needed
  • Drive engagement surveys and support the facilitation of action plans
  • Plan and organise socials and year end function

General Administration Services

  • Facilitate the implementation of talent management and succession planning.
  • Assist business to effectively manage headcount.
  • Proactively identify and pre-empt HR risks
  • Maintain quality, efficiency, and confidentiality of service within the HR Department.
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
  • Ad hoc admin requirements within the HR department.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-year HR Related Degree/Diploma (Essential)
  • Project management (Optional)
  • At least 6-8 years' experience as a fully-fledged HR Generalist (Essential)
  • 2-3 Years as an HR manager (Essential)
  • Philanthropy experience (Desirable)
  • SAGE HRIS (Desirable)
