Job description

Our client based in Durban is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate would need to have a strong IR and ER background and have previous experience in a managerial role.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or similar field.
  • Proven experience as a Human Resource Manager in the automotive sector or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of South African labour laws and regulations.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Strong IR and ER knowledge.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Human Resources and Industrial Relations Management

  • Manage all aspects of Human Resources and Industrial Relations within the company.
  • Experience in managing Section 189A, CCMA cases, union matters and employment equity.
  • Manage all aspects of legal and statutory requirements within the company, including internal and external audits.
  • Oversee end to end recruitment process including job postings, candidate screening, interviews and selection.

HR Policies and Compliance

  • Develop and update HR policies and procedures in line with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with employment equity and BEE requirements.

Performance Management

  • Implement performance appraisal systems.
  • Actively manage evaluations of employee performances within the company.
  • Develop strategies for employee recognition and career development.

Training and Development

  • Oversee training needs with the organization and design or implement relevant training programmes.
  • Encourage continuous learning and development to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

BEE Management

  • Manage the BEE program and ensure accreditation levels are achieved and maintained.

Benefits and Compensation

  • Manage employee compensation and benefits, ensuring competitive packages and adherence to budget constraints.

General Admin & IT

  • Manage all general admin activities and assets of the company.
  • Manage all IT aspects.
