Purpose of the Job

To provide specialist Human Resource support to stakeholders by facilitating and integrating aligned sound labour relations within the company. To assist with formulation of HR Policies, assisting in processing recruitment, selection, placement, and onboarding of staff. To provide sound strategies towards staff retention, performance management as well as recognition and rewards programs. To promote a safe and inclusive workplace environment.


Key Responsibilities

Recruitment:

  1. Facilitate recruitment process, advertising, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, interviewing, placing, and onboarding.
  2. Give feedback to successful and unsuccessful candidates.
  3. Drafting and sending offer letters and contracts.
  4. Create a new starter profile on the HRIS.
  5. Advising managers on recruitment practices.
  6. Drafting of contracts and annexures.
  7. Conducting criminal and reference checks on LexisNexis.
  8. Provide new starter details to payroll.
  9. Submit transport request for new starters.
  10. Liaise with Chapter2 for external recruitment inline the internal practice.
  11. Facilitate and conduct induction.
  12. Draft annexures for internal appointments.

Labour Relations:

  1. Ensure adherence to labour legislation of BCEA, Employment Equity, LRA, Skills Development Levies Act, and POPI Act.
  2. Advise managers on sound Labour Relations Practices.
  3. Facilitate probation process and ensure migration to permanency and/or termination.
  4. Manage any disputes pertaining to the employment relationship.
  5. Validate and capture warnings on HRIS.
  6. Assist Team Leaders and/or Managers to draft or formulate charges.
  7. Chairing disciplinary hearings.
  8. CCMA representation including objection of con-arbs and legal representation.
  9. Assist in Incapacity hearings.
  10. Assist Managers in conducting investigations.
  11. Guide and advise stakeholders on absence management.
  12. Draft and update policies.
  13. Keeping abreast of changes in legislation.
  14. Assist in the issuance of warnings and notice to attend disciplinary hearings.
  15. Manage absconsion process.

Learning and Development:

  1. Inducting new employees.
  2. Conduct Labour Relations Training for all new Team Leaders and Managers.
  3. Conduct Managing Under Performance training for Team Leaders and Managers.
  4. Conduct HRIS training for new Team Leaders and Managers.
  5. Personal Development for employees guide inline with the company levelling.

Payroll:

  1. Liaising with payroll department with regards to changes to employees’ salaries and allowances.
  2. Generate reports.
  3. Drafting UI-19 for exiting and exiting employees.
  4. Managing the Maternity process and liaising with payroll department.
  5. Deal with employee day to day queries such as payslip requests or related queries.
  6. Terminate exiting employees on HRIS.
  7. Update the payroll termination tracker.

HR Operations:

  1. Generating reports for Management.
  2. Facilitate and update staff movements on HRIS.
  3. Build and Maintain relationships with Business Unit managers.
  4. Conducting exit interviews.
  5. Ensure HR projects are rolled out on behalf of People and Culture department.
  6. Employment Equity Submission.

Key skills and experience to be evidenced within your application included;

Minimum Requirements:

  1. HR or relevant qualification.
  2. Previous experience in a HR generalist role.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).

Knowledge:

  1. Sound knowledge of Labour Legislation.
  2. CCMA procedure.
  3. HR systems.

Skills:

  1. Sound knowledge of HR systems.
