Job description

Our client seeks a HR and Risk Officer with 5+ years experience. The HR and Risk officer will need to develop, review, and improve policies, systems, and procedures; and ensure the company’s needs in this area are met satisfactorily. The ideal candidate must be analytical, deadline-driven, knowledgeable, and organized with an initiative-taking attitude and strong people skills.

Salary: depends on experience

Education / Experience

  1. Grade 12 with a relevant HR and/or risk or Finance qualification
  2. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role

Key Duties

  1. Delivering and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with overall business strategies.
  2. Bridging management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, and other issues.
  3. Employee wellness programme and positive motivation mechanisms.
  4. Monthly payroll run / consulting with outsourcing company (full payroll functions).
  5. Processing payroll bank account transactions on Pastel.
  6. Loading payroll related expenses onto bank.
  7. Employee database and HR tasks.
  8. Performance management / disciplinary processes of non-performing employees.
  9. Managing any necessary employee training.
  10. Managing the recruitment and selection process.
  11. Onboarding new employees.
  12. Employee exit programme and analysis.
  13. Leave tracking and management.
  14. SARS compliance.
  15. Health and safety compliance.
  16. Monthly / quarterly incident reporting.
  17. Insurance review and negotiations.
  18. COID.
  19. EE submission.
  20. Company policies and procedures – draft and manage.
  21. Authority framework with internal controls, risk audits, and assessments.
