Our Client, a Global tech firm, is seeking a Senior Network and Security Infrastructure Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg on a contract basis.

JHB Hybrid model generally one day in office; however, this can vary depending on events, going up to 6 days a month in office.
For the in-office day, generally in the Sandton office and once a month at Cisco Offices in Midrand.
Responsibilities:
Provide 2nd level escalation (3rd being the Vendor) support for BAU teams ensuring that the networks and client connectivity platforms meet or exceed availability.
Ensure quality, performance, and resiliency requirements in SLAs agreed with business stakeholders, thus contributing to the mitigation of technology risks.
Design and innovate Network and Client Connectivity infrastructure solutions that maximize performance, reliability, and resiliency.
Ensure the IMs department's Network and Client Connectivity infrastructure projects and initiatives are delivered on time.
Identify potential risks/concerns to the Project team, accompanied by solutions where possible.
Apply cost-effective principles when designing challenging/complex Network and Client Connectivity infrastructure solutions.
Responsible for the configuration, alignment, monitoring, and maintenance of Analytics platform and the continuous improvement of valuable data for business stakeholders.
Responsible for organizational change management following technology changes or process updates to ensure adoption of new technology and ways of work.
Maintain a secure network through the alignment to network security best practices, analysis of vulnerability assessments, and Cisco published security bulletins.
Pro-actively monitor, improve, or clean up insecure, shadowed, or unused firewall rules.
Provide internal consultancy and expert opinions on Networks and Client Connectivity infrastructure to internal stakeholders.
Maintain a sufficient level of technical fluency in the Networks and Client Connectivity platform infrastructure technology to enable adequate communication of capabilities, risks, and issues to all stakeholder communities.
Ensure the alignment of Networks and Client Connectivity infrastructure network designs to the roadmap informed by the Enterprise Architecture strategy.
Take ownership of the Networks and Client Connectivity infrastructure Technology Reference Models (TRM).
Requirements:
CCNP, CCDP, ITIL, Azure Fundamentals, AWS Certification Qualification or similar.
Networking, CCNP, CCIE / CCIE Written, Network Security, Linux, Microsoft Azure, AWS, Qualification or similar.
Managing self and managing others.
Strong experience with Microsoft, Unix, and Open Source Operating Systems network technology stacks.
Cisco Technologies (Routers, Switches, Firewalls), commands in CISCO IOS.
