Hotel General Manager - Luxury Property - Dullstroom

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Hotel General Manager to join the team of a Luxury Hotel based in Dullstroom.

Here’s an overview of the position:

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the Hotel & Spa, managing the following departments:
  • Front of House: Includes receptionists, assistant general manager, duty managers, and general assistants.
  • Housekeeping: Includes head of housekeeping, housekeeping manager, and housekeeping staff.
  • Gardens and Maintenance: Includes head of maintenance and gardens, maintenance assistants, and gardeners.
  • The Spa: Includes spa receptionist and spa therapists.

Reporting Structure:

• The successful candidate will report directly to the Hotel’s Managing Director.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience: 3-5 years as a General Manager in a 5-star Hotel, Country Hotel, or Lodge. Highly experienced Assistant General Managers ready for advancement will also be considered.
• Education: A degree or diploma in tourism or hospitality is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: R25k – R35k per month, commensurate with experience.
• Benefits: Provident Fund, cell phone allowance, and daily staff meals.

Accommodation:

• On-site accommodation is provided for the candidate, including a one-bedroom unit with bathroom, open-plan lounge, and small kitchen.
• Restrictions: No pets allowed. Wi-Fi/internet access provided.

Required Strengths:

• Exceptional guest relations skills
• Strong staff management capabilities, including rosters, discipline, and training
• Proficiency in food and beverage operations
• Expertise in designing and managing internal processes
• Solid financial skills, including stock takes and night audits
• Experience with property management software
