Location: Cape Town – Northern Suburbs

Salary: R24k – R30k Cost to Company Negotiable on Experience

Career opportunity at established, long-running, and well-known Manufacturer in the Building Construction Industry. Our client is looking for an experienced & qualified H&S Officer with 5 years in a SHERQ Environment.

Criteria:

1. Matric & relevant Qualifications
2. 5 Years applicable experience in a SHERQ environment
3. Practical knowledge of occupational and environmental safety hazards, safety survey techniques, control, and preventative measures
4. ISO 9001; ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 techniques
5. Good knowledge in Document Management System
6. Good knowledge in Incident System
7. Ensure full Health & Safety documentation compliance as per OHS Act and Regulations
8. Implementation of Health & Safety compliance, policies, laws, and by-laws
9. Internal Health & Safety audits
10. Risk assessments, safe working procedures, and communication thereof
11. External audit preparation for Department of Labour and shareholders
12. Manage full compliance on contractor and sub-contractor management
13. Manage and execute environmental-related issues and compliance (Water testing, stack testing, and waste removal of contaminated and domestic waste)
14. Employee induction and annual medical examination of employees
15. Planned training and legal appointments to train employees and protect employer
16. Hygiene surveys – Noise, Illumination, and ventilation
17. SHE Committee member and SHE meetings

INJURY ON DUTY MANAGEMENT

Emergency coordinator and leader, Emergency preparedness, Managing Emergency equipment, Handling of Legal Appointments, Fire protection management.
