Job Title: Head of Wellness

Founded in 1877, Durban Girls' College is a leading independent Christian school with a proud history offering an innovative and relevant education for girls from Grade 00 to Grade 12.

To remain at the forefront of innovation and relevance, we are creating a new position of the Head of Wellness. This role will work across all our schools and within the broader community, reporting to the executive head.

The Key Responsibilities:

• Create, implement, and lead a comprehensive wellness strategy that promotes physical, mental, spiritual, social, and emotional well-being of students, staff, and parents.
• Ensure wellness initiatives are embedded into the school culture fostering a supportive, healthy, high-performing, inclusive environment.

We are seeking a candidate with:

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in psychology, Health Promotion, Education or a related field (a master's degree is advantageous)
• At least 3 years of experience in a wellness, health promotion, or mental health role preferably in an educational or youth-focused environment
• South African Council for Educators (SACE) accreditation
• Strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health and employee wellness frameworks

• A strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Project management and data tracking platform skills
• A positive, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
• Deep empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by students and educators
• A passion for promoting holistic well-being

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about promoting the well-being of students and staff. The estimated salary for this position is R750,000 - R1,200,000 per annum depending on experience.
