King David Pre-Primary Linksfield

This co-educational ISASA affiliated Pre-Primary School, situated in Linksfield, Johannesburg offers education from first year playschool to Grade R. The school is a Jewish Day school and has strong roots and traditions, is warm, nurturing and community focused. The opportunity exists for an Educator to be appointed as Head of this exceptional Preprimary school.

The Head will report to the General Director and Board and will assume responsibility for the leadership, strategic direction, innovation and maintaining the warm, nurturing environment, as well as the day-to-day functioning of the school.

The essential qualities, skills and requirements for the position are:

1. A proven track record with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a Pre-Primary School, preferably an independent school.
2. Appropriate academic and professional qualifications and experience.
3. In-depth knowledge and expertise in terms of pre-primary learning and development.
4. Strong leadership and communication skills coupled with effective administrative and organisational skills.
5. A progressive, innovative educational philosophy, aligned with current trends, best practice and technological advances.
6. A commitment to the maintenance and enhancement of the school's teaching excellence as well as to the continuity of a warm, community environment.
7. A champion of the Jewish ethos and support for Israel, with a strong commitment to the South African Jewish community.
8. Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with educational trends and practices.
9. Knowledge of 21st century learning practices.
10. Registered with SACE.
