Job Description

The Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation seeks a dynamic, visionary Head of Programmes to lead the design, implementation, and impact of its education, leadership, and dialogue programmes. This senior leadership role is critical in advancing the Foundation’s mission and honouring the legacy of Archbishop Desmond and Leah Tutu.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and inspirational leadership within the Foundation’s Executive Committee.
• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive programme strategies aligned with the Foundation’s vision.
• Build and manage partnerships with stakeholders, collaborators, and donors.
• Drive resource mobilisation in collaboration with the CEO and Head of Advancement.
• Develop robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MERL) strategies and tools.
• Ensure programme content is aligned with communications, marketing, and fundraising goals.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Minimum five years’ relevant management experience in a civil society or related context.
• Proven experience in leading impactful programmes and managing diverse teams.
• Understanding of the socio-political context and the legacy of Desmond Tutu.
• Strong communication, leadership, and systems development skills.
• Ability to engage with diverse communities; multilingualism is advantageous.
