Head of Procurement

Planet Fitness is currently looking for a Head of Procurement who is responsible for overseeing the purchasing and supply chain management functions within the organization. This role ensures that all procurement activities are carried out efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with legal and ethical standards. The primary objective is to develop and implement procurement strategies that meet the company's operational needs while managing supplier relationships and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Strategy and Leadership
2. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's business goals and objectives.
3. Lead the procurement team to achieve cost savings, supplier performance improvements, and risk mitigation.
4. Work with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and legal, to ensure procurement processes support broader company initiatives.
5. Identify and assess potential risks in procurement activities and develop strategies to minimize those risks.
6. Supplier Relationship Management
7. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure product availability and competitive pricing.
8. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers, ensuring the company obtains the best value.
9. Develop a supplier performance management system, evaluating suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service.
10. Implement strategic sourcing to identify new suppliers, products, and services that meet the company's requirements.
11. Procurement Operations
12. Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.
13. Implement and manage procurement systems and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
14. Monitor procurement budgets, ensure spending aligns with company objectives, and identify areas for cost savings.
15. Manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking while ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
16. Policy and Compliance
17. Establish and enforce procurement policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate potential risks.
18. Ensure procurement practices adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., anti-bribery laws, conflict of interest policies).
19. Drive ethical sourcing initiatives, ensuring that all goods and services are sourced responsibly and sustainably.
20. Team Management and Development
21. Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, providing guidance on best practices, procurement strategies, and process improvements.
22. Set clear goals and performance metrics for the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
23. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to support career development and progression within the team.
24. Ensure the team is trained on procurement systems, company policies, and relevant legal or regulatory requirements.
25. Cost and Performance Management
26. Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve value without compromising quality or service levels.
27. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess procurement performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and delivery accuracy.
28. Ensure that procurement decisions contribute to the overall financial performance of the company.
29. Technology and Process Improvements
30. Ensure effective upkeep of current Procurement systems.
31. Develop and ensure reporting and required dashboards are created and maintained.

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing procurement strategies in a large organization.
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, sourcing strategies, and contract negotiation.
• Experience with procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms).
• Experience managing a team and fostering a high-performance culture.
