GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: With a direct report to the Finance Director, this position will be responsible for managing the finance processes for all the Centre branches, including core accounting, management accounting, and reporting.
The Financial Controller will be responsible for ensuring the financial compliance and efficiency of all the Centre branches.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Control: Develop and implement robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Regularly assess and enhance internal controls to mitigate financial risks. Manage and complete internal financial controls testing and process. Oversee the Centre audit process and ensure audit compliance. Continuous improvement in measuring financial performance KPI's.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for all the Centres ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial data. Retain overall responsibility of the general ledger by reviewing transactions generated by the Centre branches. Ensure the accuracy of all inter-company transactions.
- Cash Flow and Working Capital Optimisation: Manage cash flow by forecasting, monitoring, and optimising working capital. Oversee the debtor's function for the Centre branches and ensure timely payment of suppliers. Monitor and report on inventory levels. Monitor and manage the Centre loan balance.
- Month End Reporting: Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with the Group's reporting deadlines. Ensure quality financial information and prepare accurate and comprehensive variance analysis for management review.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Work closely with department heads to develop and monitor budgets. Provide insightful analysis and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Analyse and manage cost control initiatives in line with budget and plan. Lead and be actively involved in the annual budgeting process.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct a thorough financial analysis to support business initiatives and identify areas of improvement. Provide financial insight and analysis.
- Strategic Support: Partner with MD of the Centre and FD in the development and execution of business strategies. Present financial insights and trends to senior management.
- Operational: Monitor and prepare monthly reports on WIP. Track the profitability of STR and subscription machines and STR recoverability rate. Track workshop recoverability rate. Monitor and report on MSVC. Track labour productivity and efficiency.

EDUCATION: BCom Accounting degree (CA(SA), or BCom Honours or CIMA Honours would be advantageous).
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 years commercial and accounting experience. Working experience on MS Office. Intermediate Excel & Word knowledge.
