We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Head of Human Resources to contribute to and support our Southern Africa and Islands Area.
As a Head of Human Resources, you will be a member of the IMEA People Business Partnering team reporting into the Regional People Director for IMEA and partner closely with leaders across the SAI Area to drive the commercial strategy. You will be presented with the unique opportunity to collaborate closely with the business, spearheading its growth agenda by managing all people-related elements essential for achieving our ambitious growth aspirations. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in solidifying our business growth by advancing the appropriate people agenda, optimizing organizational design, enhancing engagement, championing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, pinpointing future-ready capabilities and skills, and fostering a customer-centric culture.
Core Overview:
Provides a business-facing role for 12 countries across Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands.
Aligns the organisation's people strategy with the business strategy.
Advises senior leaders to envision, develop, and execute a People Function strategy that supports their growth, performance, and future objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualises and leads the execution of People Function strategies, policies, and practices, complementing the business strategy.
Serves as an essential driver of change, taking charge of the entire change management process and optimising it.
Places particular focus on bringing the corporate culture to life to attract and retain top talent.
Coach leaders to enhance their strategic thinking and interpersonal skills, empowering them to drive exceptional team performance and organizational growth.
Plays a strategic role in transitioning businesses throughout the entire M&A process, ensuring successful outcomes.
Identifies people and business challenges and implements responding solutions.
Collaborates with leaders in developing and enhancing talent management, succession planning, employee engagement, and productivity.
Optimises resource levels across the organisation to maximise functions and improve performance.
Spearheads overall organisational development, design, restructure, and other related initiatives.
Accountable for computing, preparing, and controlling the SAI People Function budget.
Facilitates and owns the implementation of the transformation strategy, diversity, employment equity, BBBEE, and inclusion.
Ensures legislative and compliance requirements pertaining to the People Function.
Utilizes analytics and metrics to make data-driven decisions and report on performance relative to business goals.
Drives organisational effectiveness through high-performing and motivated teams.
Who are we looking for / Critical Qualifications / Experience:
Relevant tertiary education.
Proven track record of strategic business partnering with senior leaders within a global matrix organisation.
Possesses strong teamwork skills, with the capability to lead through influence across various teams.
Ability to challenge leaders in the business when they identify issues or hold different perspectives.
Resilience and maturity in dealing with change/uncertainty and delivering results in challenging environments.
Evidence of thought-leadership and an understanding of the commercial business landscape.
Excellence in influencing senior stakeholders, conceptualising and shaping strategies, challenging perceptions and expanding points of view while acting as a trusted advisor and courageous advocate.
Demonstrated leadership ability to work in a matrix team environment where collaboration is key for our business success.
Solid knowledge and experience in adhering to local compliance requirements in South Africa, specifically with BBBEE, Employment Equity, and Skills Development initiatives.
