Calling all experienced Chartered Accountants in the Financial Services space for an exciting Head of Finance role at a booming African Fintech organisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

The company is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to head up and lead the finance team. The incumbent will report on a group level. The finance team is not big on titles, formalities or big egos. The team is diverse, innovative and technologically driven.

Qualifications and Experience

1. CA(SA) (Non-Negotiable)
2. 3-5 years people management experience
3. Minimum 5 years post articles experience
4. Accpac Experience (preferred)
5. Experience with ERP Systems

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Primarily responsible for the efficient leading of the finance team and oversee all elements essential to the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
2. Ensure statutory compliance, governance and risk monitoring.
3. Offer support in the preparation of financial results that will be presented at a group holding company level.
4. Assist the Group FD / CFO with the budgeting process and implementation.
5. Monitor, prepare, report on and analysis of actual performance to the monthly and annual budget and forecasts.
6. Provide support to the Group FD / CFO in the preparation for the annual audit and liaise with external auditors.
7. Preparation and submission of all statutory returns including VAT, PAYE, Income Tax etc.
8. Preparation of Monthly Consolidated Management Accounts.
9. Preparation of Annual Financial Statements.
10. Liaise with company secretary as required (including CIPC updates and annual returns).
11. Assist with finance and governance related queries.
12. Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures and identify areas for potential improvement.
13. Lead and motivate the finance team - Monitor team deliverables, ensure development and retention of staff.
14. Participation in various special and strategic company projects.
15. General management and administration.
16. Establish accounting policies and procedures.
17. Ensure compliance (accounting and statutory) of all subsidiaries.
18. Provide commercial and financial guidance and support to other areas of the group.
19. Manage BBBEE compliance and audits.
20. Strengthen processes and automation of processes.
21. Authorize and release bank payments.
22. Assistance with ad hoc financial projects.
