Head Of Finance

A well-established company in the gas supply industry is seeking a Head of Finance to lead its financial function and work closely with senior leadership.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will play a key part in financial strategy, operational execution, and long-term business planning. This is a fully in-office role based in Lanseria, Johannesburg, ideal for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys both strategic planning and hands-on financial management. This role will take full responsibility for overseeing financial operations, ensuring sound financial decision-making, and optimizing business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Act as a strategic financial partner to the CEO, providing insights and recommendations on financial planning, budgeting, and operational performance.
2. Oversee financial reporting, including profit and loss analysis, cash flow forecasting, and performance tracking across business units.
3. Lead financial planning and analysis, supporting long-term business objectives and expansion initiatives.
4. Manage and optimize working capital, ensuring strong cash, investment, debtors, and inventory management.
5. Oversee financial systems, ERP implementation, and internal financial controls to drive efficiency.
6. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and audit requirements.
7. Manage relationships with banks, suppliers, auditors, and other financial stakeholders.
8. Guide and develop the finance team, overseeing the Sales Order, Invoicing, Debtors, Procurement, Stock, Creditors, and Finance functions.
9. Provide critical financial insights to support operational decisions, including cost management and profitability analysis.
10. Engage with senior leadership on financial strategy, growth opportunities, and risk management.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Qualified CA (SA) with 5+ years of PQE or, AGA (SA), CGMA, or Professional Accountant (SA) with 7+ years of experience.
2. Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships and procurement processes.
3. Proven ability to lead a multi-functional finance team.
4. Experience working with Sage will be beneficial.

Salary: R1 - R1 / year CTC.
