Head of Division - Planning & Traffic Engineering

Location: Johannesburg

A large consulting company with branches across South Africa and Internationally is looking to hire a Senior Traffic Planning Engineer to head up the Division. This position is responsible for the development of the division in the region and encompasses business planning, marketing, profitability, resource management, project execution, and delivery.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Bachelor of Engineering degree, BTech or higher degree from an accredited university/college
2. Minimum 15 years of practical experience in the Planning and Traffic Engineering discipline
3. Sound knowledge of Quality Assurance (QA)
4. Implementation of sound principles in project management, risk management, and financial management
5. Willingness and ability to work with digitally based financial systems to extract and analyse group performance (BST)
6. Knowledge of engineering design processes and solid background in transportation planning and traffic engineering
7. Recognised expertise in one or more specialist fields in the transportation planning and traffic engineering fields
8. Technical Reviewer on large or complex projects
9. Influential member of relevant national industry committee would be beneficial
10. Frequent presenter at national conferences; generates opportunities for others
11. Known to a large number of key national clients and their “first choice” for advice
12. Coordination and development of innovation on a functional/national basis
13. Able to drive technical input to bids and provide clear USPs in technological field
