Head Houseman

Wine Estate close to Stellenbosch is looking for a Head Houseman.

Responsibilities:

1. Overseeing the day-to-day operations, including cleaning, maintenance, and managing other staff to ensure the property is clean, organized, and maintained to a high standard.
2. Managing budgets and supplies.
3. Ensuring all areas of the house are clean and maintained according to set standards.
4. Managing and supervising staff: this includes recruiting, training, and scheduling staff, as well as addressing any performance issues.
5. Managing and ordering cleaning supplies, linens, and other household items.
6. Assisting with developing budget, forecasting expenses, and ensuring cost efficiency.
7. Implementing and enforcing protocols to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
8. Addressing guest requests and concerns and coordinating with other departments as needed.
9. Assisting with maintenance that can include lawn care, gardening, and other exterior maintenance tasks.
10. Changing light bulbs, repairing minor fixtures, or checking security systems.
11. Ensuring compliance with regulations.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• A formal qualification
• At least 2 – 3 years in a housekeeping/houseman role at a 5-star property
