We are seeking a skilled Head Barista to join our team at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel. As a Head Barista, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and gastronomic and beverage experiences to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks, including coffee, tea, artisan and specialty beverages.
Initiate barista training with existing staff, seasonal staff, or event staff.
Share knowledge and enthusiasm with other staff members to create an exceptional guest experience.
Provide prompt, attentive, and courteous service to every guest.
Address guest complaints in a timely manner and communicate feedback to management to enhance the guest experience.
Recommend perfect pairings with afternoon tea and assist guests during service.
Assist with inventory management, stock count, and cash handling as required.
Provide direct service to guests, including serving tables and seating guests when needed.
Participate in special functions and events, assisting with setup and breakdown of tables and venue requirements.
Take inventory and order supplies with the approval of the Outlet Manager to ensure optimal stock levels.
Perform other duties as required by management.
Requirements:
Hospitality qualification advantageous.
1-2 years' experience in a similar position within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment.
Excellent communication skills.
Exceptional customer service orientation.
Knowledge of silverware – advantageous.
Good knowledge and understanding of teas and coffees.
A strong knowledge of food and beverage pairings.
