Group Chief Financial Officer

An innovative FinTech company in Cape Town is currently seeking a strong executive leader to join the team as a Group Chief Financial Officer.

This role offers the opportunity to oversee the entire finance function, optimising the financial operations and shaping the company’s financial strategy. As the CFO, you will facilitate informed decision-making for the executive directors, board, and shareholders.

This role is ideal for an analytical finance professional with deep fintech expertise and a passion for leveraging financial innovation to scale a dynamic, high-growth organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the organization’s financial strategy to support business objectives.
• Provide financial reports and strategic analysis to the Executive Board, Directors, and stakeholders.
• Oversee financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity, capital allocation, and funding (equity and debt arrangements).
• Assess and mitigate financial risks while ensuring adherence to FAIS and industry regulations.
• Lead mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic financial initiatives.
• Build and manage a high-performing finance team and optimise internal financial processes.
• Supervise tax reporting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and group consolidation.
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, overseeing audits and financial reviews.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Qualified CA(SA) or equivalent accreditation with preferably an MBA.
• Minimum 10 years in senior financial leadership positions with strong Fintech/startup industry knowledge and experience in scaling fast-growth businesses.
• Extensive experience in financial reporting, group consolidations, and compliance.
• Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
• Excellent leadership, management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to oversee multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Salary:

• R1 800 000 - R2 400 000 / year CTC depending on the candidate’s experience
