Graduate - Port and Coastal Engineer

The successful applicant will join our growing and exciting Maritime team as a Port & Coastal Engineer with a focus on technical excellence, innovative thinking, and teamwork. In the process, we become global thought leaders in our various fields. We positively influence the industry and people around us both locally and on exciting international projects leveraging the global WSP platform and reach. The successful applicant will take part in Coastal Engineering aspects such as:

1. Input and participation in coastal process data analyses and modelling (e.g. waves, sediment transport, beach morphology).
2. Prefeasibility to detailed coastal engineering feasibility studies including designs and reporting.
3. Concept up to detailed coastal engineering designs, drawing generation, technical specifications, capital and operational cost estimations.

Qualifications:

1. Postgraduate masters (MEng / MScEng) qualification in Coastal and Port Engineering.
2. Registration as Engineer in Training with ECSA will be an advantage.
3. 0-3 years post-graduate design experience in Ports & Coastal engineering.
4. Concept to detail design and construction drawing production on Port & Coastal projects.
5. Experience in coastal engineering and other software tools: AutoCAD, Civil3D; CEDAS or similar (shoreline models, storm erosion models) will be an advantage and Modelling software such as SWAN, Deltares, Delft3D, and DHI Mike will also be an added advantage.
6. Competence in digital engineering and computer proficiency using MATLAB / PYTHON / VBA to analyse environmental data and / or facilitate designs would be an advantage.
7. Knowledge on coastal design guidelines and standards e.g. Rock Manual, CEM, DNV, BS codes, EuroTop.
