Golf Club Manager Soweto

Position : Club Manager

Purpose:

1. To coordinate and manage the efficient day-to-day management and operations of the Golf Club.
2. To ensure that the Golf Course is safe, secure and maintained for the benefit of the members, visitors and estate residents.
3. To ensure the financial health of the Golf Club.
4. To advertise and promote the Golf Club and Clubhouse.
5. To ensure that laws and statutory regulations are adhered to.
6. To ensure Golf Club rules and estate rules are adhered to.

Brief Outline of Duties:

1. Review daily, weekly, and monthly golf course and golf cart bookings and submit a Weekly Bookings report to Golf Committee.
2. Ensure members and visitors encounter excellent hospitality at all times when receiving service.
3. Govern the handicap system.
4. Responsible for the Pro Shop Retail operation to include buying products, managing inventory levels, markdowns, and promotions.
5. Responsible for the Pro Shop Retail operation to include inventory counts and cash counts.
6. Oversee the supervision of the maintenance of golf carts and golf operations personnel.
7. Schedule and chair regular staff meetings focused on customers, operations, revenue growth and cost containment.
8. Address member and visitor complaints and resolve problems immediately, documenting complaints and solutions in a Complaints register.
9. Review complaints from members and visitors with employees, green keeper, and Clubhouse service provider to develop appropriate corrective action.
10. Maintain a close working relationship with the Golf Course Green Keeper and Clubhouse Service provider to ensure an effective and fluid operation.
11. Coordinate plans with Clubhouse Service provider for all food and beverage needs, on-course food and beverage needs, banquets, outside events and catering for all golf functions.
