Global Safeguarding and Youth Participation Manager

Context of the Role
We are looking for a Safeguarding and Youth Participation Manager who will lead the delivery of safeguarding, youth participation and community engagement activities in our global team.
What You’ll Do
Safeguarding
- Support the implementation, contextualisation and monitoring of safeguarding policies and procedures at Girl Effect.
- Lead global safeguarding technical support, focusing on Nigeria and Kenya.
- Collaborate with partners to ensure robust safeguarding checks and onboarding.
- Collaborate with the Director of Safeguarding to strengthen digital safeguarding.
- Lead global Safeguarding inductions and provide capacity building to country teams.
- Coordinate and oversee the response to disclosures of harm and abuse.
- Lead global youth participation technical support, focusing on Nigeria and Kenya.
- Support revisions to and the roll-out of Girl Effect’s global youth participation strategy.
- Lead global efforts to ensure feedback loops are integrated into youth participation initiatives.
- Work closely with MERL colleagues to track and evaluate youth participation initiatives.
- Collaborate with geo focal points to share best practice case studies.
- Deliver quarterly youth participation inductions and refresher sessions.
Fundraising and Donor Engagement
- Provide input into donor due diligence processes.
- Collaborate on proposal development and donor reports.
- Represent Girl Effect in donor meetings.

Qualifications and Experience
- A bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, child protection, international development, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in youth participation, safeguarding, or related fields.
- Expert knowledge of international safeguarding and youth participation standards.
- Experience in developing and implementing youth participation and safeguarding policies.
- Strong experience in case management and risk assessments.
- Experience designing and delivering training initiatives.
