Geophysicist - (Oil and Gas industry)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oil and Gas Geophysicist to join our client’s team. The Geophysicist will be responsible for collecting and analysing geological data using specialized geophysical instruments and techniques. You will be involved in petroleum discovery and recovery, determining the structure and placement of oil and gas deposits. You will also develop plans and recommendations based on your analysis. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in geophysics, with specific experience in the oil and gas industry.

Responsibilities

1. Collect and analyze geological and geophysical data
2. Conduct seismic interpretation and mapping
3. Apply geophysical data and techniques to oil and gas discovery
4. Develop models to predict the potential for oil and gas under the earth’s surface
5. Work with teams to plan drilling efforts based on interpretation of data
6. Present findings to company executives and team members
7. Maintain knowledge of current industry methods and tools
8. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Qualifications

1. Proven work experience as a Geophysicist in oil and gas industry
2. Strong understanding of geological and geophysical concepts
3. Proficient in geophysical software
4. Excellent data interpretation skills
5. Strong problem-solving abilities
6. Ability to work collaboratively in teams
7. BSc degree in Geophysics, Geology or related field
8. MSc or PhD in Geophysics is preferred
