Job description

Our client in the engineering sector is looking for a Service Sales Engineer to join their team.

The ideal candidate will drive after-sales excellence by preparing accurate quotations, fostering customer satisfaction, and growing the power service business.

The successful candidate will need to maintain strong customer relationships, increase market share in after-sales services, ensure sales targets are met, provide support for after-sales operations, and collaborate closely with internal teams to enhance service delivery and customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Prepare Part, Service and Repair quotations for Customers.
  2. Ensure that the sales targets, GP and Market contribution for both service operations and part sales are met within the area of responsibility.
  3. Continuously drive customer satisfaction by facilitating prompt and efficient service.
  4. Maintain and increase customer share by conducting regular customer visits in your area of responsibility.
  5. Prepare monthly reports of activities and statistics of quotations vs. orders received (SAP Cloud).
  6. Monitor and report on all competitor and pirate activity in the area and at key customers.
  7. Stay current with technical and product training to ensure up-to-date knowledge and expertise.
  8. Analyse and report on competitors' pricing structures and any changes.
  9. Involvement in tenders, quotations and proposals.
  10. Support the collection process for overdue accounts from sales.
  11. Conduct monthly / quarterly structure quality meetings with key clients.
  12. Perform any functions or duties as required in accordance with "The Way We Do Things" guidelines.
  13. Enhance the company's image by actively promoting our services, spare parts, and sales offerings.
  14. Collaborate with the marketing team on service proposals and contribute to monthly sales meeting reports.

Job Requirements

  1. Minimum of 3 years' experience in retail and after-sales business.
  2. Proven ability to cultivate and enhance customer relationships.
  3. Strong planning and organisational abilities.
  4. Capability to turn quotations into successful sales.
  5. Suitable tertiary qualification - N6 and / or Sales and Marketing qualification.
  6. Valid driver's license.
  7. Valid passport.
  8. Demonstrates confidence and excels in collaborative team environments.
  9. Computer literate (majority of work relates to AC SAP systems) and cloud.
  10. Strong time management and organisational skills.
  11. Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.
  12. Highly self-motivated with a proven ability to work independently.
