General Manager: Mechanisation

TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: General Manager: Mechanisation within the Mechanisation division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Job Summary
The General Manager will oversee the entire Mechanisation division, ensuring the division’s growth, operational efficiency, and alignment with the company’s overall strategy. The role requires leadership across sales, operations, and financial performance, while focusing on innovation and market expansion in the agricultural Mechanisation space.

Responsibilities and Duties
1. Strategic Leadership

1. Develop and implement the strategic direction for the Mechanisation division
2. Align division goals with the overall objectives of TWK Agri
3. Stay informed of market trends and adjust strategy accordingly

2. Operational Management

1. Oversee daily operations, including sales, service, and spares departments
2. Ensure efficient inventory management, supply chain coordination, and resource allocation
3. Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction

3. Financial Management

1. Prepare and manage the division’s budget and ensure profitability
2. Track, analyse, and report on financial performance, identifying areas for cost-saving and revenue growth
3. Conduct financial forecasts and ensure that targets are met or exceeded

4. Team Leadership

1. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team
2. Create a culture of accountability and collaboration
3. Set performance targets for teams and monitor progress

5. Customer Relationship Management

1. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty
2. Develop new business opportunities and maintain a strong market presence
3. Handle escalated customer issues and provide solutions

6. Innovation and Technology

1. Drive the adoption of new technologies in Mechanisation to improve service and product offerings
2. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of the latest equipment and solutions

7. Compliance and Risk Management

1. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies
2. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications and Skills

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business Management, Agriculture, or a related field
• 8-10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management role within the Mechanisation or agricultural equipment industry
• Strong understanding of financial management and budgeting
• Demonstrated success in driving business growth and improving profitability
