Mission / Core purpose of the Job

MTN Group is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to lead the MTN Group Foundation, driving its corporate social investment (CSI) strategy and flagship programs across all 19 markets.

The role will encompass developing frameworks, policies, and processes that align with MTN's business strategy.

The General Manager will ensure MTN's contributions address national, regional, and continental challenges while enhancing its reputation as a responsible corporate citizen.

This pivotal role will ensure that MTN's social investments deliver meaningful and measurable impacts, leveraging connectivity and technology for good.

The General Manager will oversee strategic program development, stakeholder engagement, governance, and monitoring and evaluation of CSI activities.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

Education: Bachelor's degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience: 5 years senior management experience or more with a minimum of 3 years in foundation management, corporate social investment, or social impact leadership, preferably in a multinational organization.

Skills: Strong governance, risk management, and strategic leadership capabilities. Proficiency in monitoring and evaluation methodologies. Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.

Collaboration (Formal and Informal Relationships)

Key customers: MTN Group Board Social, Ethics and Sustainability Committee, Executive Committee, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Officer, Opco CEOs, Head of Corporate services and Foundation / CSI Division representative, Group platform businesses.

Key suppliers: Corporate social investment specialist firms, consultancies, Market Intelligence and Research Agencies.
