Role Overview: As the General Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing the daily operations and driving the strategic direction of the organisation.

You'll manage key business functions including sales, marketing, HR, and operations, ensuring that resources are optimally allocated and goals are consistently met.

Your leadership will play a critical role in the execution of business strategies, identifying market opportunities, and fostering a culture of innovation.

You will also lead the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure the successful delivery of projects that contribute to the organisation's long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operational Management
    • Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient workflows, task prioritisation, and resource allocation.
    • Manage budgets and financial reporting, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
    • Supervise and guide department heads across sales, marketing, operations, and HR.
    • Lead the Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver successful outcomes and drive impactful business projects.
  2. Strategic Planning and Execution
    • Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement business strategies that fuel growth and innovation.
    • Identify and capitalise on market opportunities by staying informed about industry trends and competitor activities.
    • Drive a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, championing process enhancements and new approaches.
  3. Leadership and Talent Management
    • Build and develop high-performing teams through recruitment, training, coaching, and mentoring.
    • Foster a positive organisational culture rooted in transparency, accountability, and respect.
    • Oversee performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
  4. Stakeholder Management
    • Cultivate strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and investors.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively to keep stakeholders informed on progress, performance, and strategic initiatives.
    • Represent the organisation at industry events, promoting its values and mission.
  5. Risk Management and Compliance
    • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, including operational, financial, and reputational threats.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices, maintaining the highest ethical standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade Test Certificate (Electrical)
  • Project Management Certificate
  • Minimum 8 years' experience working with substations, HV and HT cables
  • Minimum 8 years in executive management within the electrical contracting industry
  • Proven track record in business growth and identifying market opportunities
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic plans aligned with business objectives
  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation for profitability
