Job description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated High-End General Manager to join a leading luxury brand in Cape Town. As a pivotal member of the team, you will oversee the daily operations of the business, ensuring an exceptional standard of service and maintaining the highest level of quality across all aspects of the operation. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute to the growth of a prestigious brand in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Operations Management: Lead and manage the day-to-day operations, including overseeing inventory, logistics, customer service, and staffing to ensure smooth and efficient business operations. This will include the restaurant and bar facilities.
  2. Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate staff, ensuring high performance, professionalism, and alignment with brand values. Foster a positive and productive team culture.
  3. Customer Experience Excellence: Ensure a seamless, personalised customer experience that aligns with the brand's high-end reputation. Resolve customer concerns in a timely and effective manner to maintain client satisfaction and loyalty.
  4. Inventory and Supply Chain Management: Oversee stock management, ordering, and supplier relationships. Maintain accurate records of inventory, ensuring stock levels are aligned with demand.
  5. Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure that products and services meet the company's luxury standards at all times.
  6. Financial Management: Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. Ensure profitability by identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimising operational efficiency.
  7. Strategic Planning and Reporting: Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute operational strategies aimed at growth, efficiency, and superior service delivery.
  8. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements, including health and safety regulations, to provide a safe and secure environment for both staff and customers.

Key Requirements

  1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management.
  2. Proven track record of leadership and team management, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
  3. Strong understanding of luxury service standards and exceptional customer service practices.
  4. Excellent financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  5. Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, staff, and suppliers.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing operational demands.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational management software (experience with ERP systems is a plus).
  8. Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus, especially Afrikaans).
  9. A passion for luxury brands and a commitment to upholding the high standards associated with them.
