Lead and execute mechanical engineering activities on proposals, tenders, and projects in Mining/Minerals and Water market segments. Deliver engineered packages within budget, on schedule, and to quality standards.

Key Performance Areas:

1. Deliver cost-effective, compliant, and safe engineering and design.
2. Manage hours, budgets, and change/variations to enhance project profitability.
3. Ensure projects comply with client and company policies, procedures, and frameworks.
4. Provide construction, installation, and commissioning support.
5. Generate equipment cost estimates, man-hour estimates, and proposal documentation.
6. Assist with tender and bid pricing.
7. Liaise with clients to assess needs, propose solutions, and provide cost estimates.
8. Develop scope of work specifications and technical requirements.
9. Manage vendors and suppliers to meet project objectives.
10. Conduct progress inspections, FATs, and final releases.
11. Maintain effective integration with other disciplines.
12. Provide input to plant reviews and mechanical drawing development.
13. Perform functional designs for mechanical equipment.
14. Maintain and update equipment lists and registers.
15. Execute work in compliance with legislation, codes, and company policies.
16. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
17. Capacity to handle pressure.
18. Ability to work in a team and mentor peers.
19. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
20. Output/results and deliverables driven.

Minimum Requirements:

1. 6+ years of mechanical engineering experience in related work within Mining/Minerals/Water projects.
2. Experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment.
3. Working experience in feasibility studies and project execution.
4. Discipline-specific engineering skills.
5. B.Sc. / B.Eng or B Tech Mechanical Engineering.
6. Professional Engineer Certification (ECSA) required.
