Full job description

Position: Sales Consultant

Main purpose of the job: Promote and sell Hertex merchandise, sample books, and partnership programmes to customers in the allocated areas and develop new business in order to meet sales targets.

Minimum Requirements

1. National Senior Certificate
2. Tertiary Certificate / Diploma in Sales & Marketing (advantage)
3. Minimum 2 years sales experience in an External sales environment
4. Exposure to an interior Design / Décor environment (advantage)
5. Must have valid driver’s licence and own, reliable transport

5. Able to work independently
6. Strong negotiation and presentation skills

Responsibilities

1. Visit customers according to contact plan
2. Identify customer needs and provide advice on appropriate selection, price, and care of products
3. Demonstrate excellent product knowledge
4. Update sample books and remove discontinued ranges
5. Promote and sell special import ranges and additional products
6. Take orders and refer to Sales Administrators
7. Identify sales leads and increase client base
8. Provide regular feedback on queries and delivery dates
9. Manage complaints and flag issues with area manager
10. Resolve payment queries with Finance
11. Manage back order list
