Full Stack Developer

ENVIRONMENT:

A fast-paced & growing provider of cutting-edge FinTech software solutions for the Property sector seeks the expertise of a Full Stack Developer who is an expert JavaScript developer, skilled with Vue.js, and has ample experience working with web and mobile applications. Your primary focus will be to develop user-facing web applications and components that interact with SQL / Non-SQL database environments. In addition, you will also be responsible for the analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of our Property Management technology. The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related fields and be highly proficient with the JavaScript language and the Vue.js framework, including its core principles such as components, reactivity, and the virtual DOM.

DUTIES:

1. Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
2. Participate as a team member in fully agile Scrum deliveries (Trello), assist the team in planning projects, including identifying task groups, time estimates, and recommending assignments.
3. Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable JavaScript / PHP code and applications.
4. Ensure the best possible performance, quality, efficiency, and responsiveness of applications.
5. Regularly communicate with others involved in the development/design process.
6. Implement test, bottleneck-fix, and bug-fix functionality.
7. Provide support to end users.
8. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation.
9. Produce the systems that support our always-on culture.
10. Stay up to date with recent developments in JavaScript, Vue.js, SQL / non-SQL, and AWS.
11. Monitor security updates, server environments, and issues found with Vue.js and all project dependencies.
12. Propose any upgrades and updates necessary for keeping up with modern security and development best practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Tertiary qualification in Computer Science or related fields would be a benefit.
2. 3 – 5 Years of software development experience.
3. Highly proficient with the JavaScript language and its modern ES6+ syntax and features.
4. Highly proficient with the Vue.js framework and its core principles such as components, reactivity, and the virtual DOM.
5. Familiar with the Vue.js ecosystem, including Vue CLI, Pinia, Vue Router, and Nuxt.js.
6. Highly proficient in the design and coding of modern, interactive, and functional user interfaces (UIs).
7. Experience with SlimPHP framework, familiar with request/response framework. Good understanding of HTML5 and CSS3, including Bootstrap and other CSS frameworks.
8. Building modular and reusable components and libraries.
9. Understanding of server-side rendering and its benefits and use cases.
10. Knowledge of functional programming and object-oriented programming paradigms.
11. Ability to write efficient, secure, well-documented, and clean JavaScript code.
12. Optimizing your application for performance.
13. Proficiency with modern development tools and Git.
14. Experience with both consuming and designing RESTful APIs.

1. AWS / EC2 and RDS.
2. IIS and Apache Web Servers.
3. SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
4. Cordova, PhoneGap, and Flutter – Mobile application development frameworks (iOS and Android).
5. AWS Lambda serverless services.
6. Pusher real-time comms layer.
7. WebSocket communications.
8. Experience with AWS CI/CD processes would be beneficial.
