Role Description:
This is the role for someone who might not be an expert at every aspect of building great things, but is willing to get their hands dirty to deliver, alongside an experienced fintech CEO, brilliant fintech products. This is the first technical hire, and so not only is our full-stack engineer going to need to be able to deliver quality products, but also clearly communicate ideas and technical issues and specifications with non-technical (albeit experienced FinTech CEO) founder. The business and group is well established and growing quickly and the next phase of growth is to build brilliant products that allow for the next phase of scaling growth. The group has a great track record of developing young, ambitious people into senior leaders, and the successful applicant to this role will potentially have designs on a CTO role in the future.
The Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for developing the products that allow our global group to scale. It is the first fully technical hire in established businesses that have great ambitions. The objective is to build the MVPs that prove that the portfolio companies can scale. This role is better suited for someone who wants to do things at 90% of perfection at extreme speed rather than a perfectionist who takes their time. We want to build quickly, test quickly and iterate on customer feedback quickly rather than build to perfection.
This is a full-time hybrid role located in Cape Town with flexibility for some remote work.
The Full Stack Engineer will work alongside the CEO and Head of Operations to scope, spec and build MVP of 2 or 3 live projects.
