FTC 6 Months – Mine Safety Officer (Comsoc 1&2 + SAMTRAC), North West, Rneg

• Grade 12 or equivalent;
• Comsoc 1 and 2 or SAMTRAC essential;
• Computer literate (Word and Excel);
• Diploma or Degree in Risk Management will be an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience;
• Experience in investigations and reporting;
• Safety training experience;

Duties:

• Maintain SHERQ system for the business unit;
• Enforce compliance as per MHS Act requirements;
• Incident investigation;
• Maintain and review processes and procedure according to ISO standards;
• Audit, report findings and implement corrective actions;
• Perform Risk Assessments;
• Audit compliance of sub-contractors;
• Advise Plant Manager on related SHERQ issues;
• Act as proxy for the company;
• Training, change and people management.
• Manage required safety documentation – near miss, HIRA books etc
